Orange & Lemons is a Filipino indie pop/alternative rock band formed in 1999 by singer-songwriter/guitarist Clem Castro (Clementine), drummer Ace del Mundo, and bassist JM del Mundo. Known for their eclectic sound blending alternative rock, indie pop, and experimental music, the band draws inspiration from iconic groups such as The Smiths, The Beatles, and Eraserheads.
Former member Mcoy Fundales served as second vocalist until the group’s initial disbandment in 2007. Over the years, Orange & Lemons released three critically acclaimed albums. Their sophomore release, Strike Whilst the Iron Is Hot (2005), achieved double platinum status, while their third album, Moonlane Gardens (2007), was named Album of the Year at the NU Rock Awards.
In 2007, the band parted ways due to musical differences. During their hiatus, the members pursued individual projects. Mcoy Fundales formed the group Kenyo alongside Ace and JM del Mundo, while Clem Castro created indie group The Camerawalls and released a solo album as Dragonfly Collector. After a decade-long hiatus, Orange & Lemons reunited in July 2017 as a trio. They marked their return with the release of the single "Lovers Go, Lovers Come" later that year. To celebrate the 15th anniversary of their debut album, the band released an updated version of Love in the Land of Rubber Shoes & Dirty Ice Cream in 2018.
The addition of keyboardist Jared Nerona in 2018 brought a fresh dynamic to the group. His contributions can be heard in their Tagalog singles "Pag-ibig Sa Tabing-Dagat" and "Ikaw Ang Aking Tahanan," which are part of an all-Tagalog album showcasing the band’s evolving sound.
