Surprisingly, she had a time when she didn’t even know her name instead, all she said was nonsense words, thanks to the panic. Her aphasia may have disappeared but the thought of the horrifying experience is still there. She established a charity, Same You, that aims to fund research and raise awareness for this matter, and also help people who have suffered from this severe injury.

4. Mark McEwen

The CBS This Morning and The Early Show reporter, Mark McEwen, had a stroke in 2005 and is not been the same ever since. He shared his experience in a memoir, Change in the Weather: Life After Stroke, and in a TEDx Talk. Singing songs from Stevie Wonder and The Beatles had helped to motivate him to recover. On his website, he admitted that he was among the privileged to be able to heal from this mild aphasia. He is an active stroke awareness activist to this day and takes advantage of his platform to encourage people with the same condition as his.

5. Dick Clark

The Academy Pays Response Towards The Will Smith and Chris Rock’s Incident

The Oscars 2022 was sprinkled with violence among actors. Bradley Cooper and Denzel Washington were involved to cool down the heating situation!

The prestigious award night was colored by a showdown between Will Smith and Chris Rock. The incident, which greatly shocked the audience and viewers at home, was triggered by Chris Rock’s joke about Will Smith’s wife, Jada-Pinkett Smith.

Chris Rock, who was on stage to read out the Best Documentary nominations, threw a joke to Jada-Pinkett Smith with the word “G.I, Jane”, which referred to the bald-headed character in G.I. Joe (1997) played by Demi Moore. The stand-up comedian was given a hard slap on the cheek when Will Smith decided to hop on stage to show his annoyance.

Chris’s joke was considered offensive and insensitive considering Jada’s current condition is caused by her battle with alopecia. The slap from Will Smith to Chris Rock was immediately trending and went viral around the world because this had never happened before in the history of the Oscars. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences issued a statement condemning violence in any form on its official Twitter account.

Not only that, The Academy also reminded that this award event was, is, and will always be a pure form of appreciation from fellow peers and movie lovers around the world, to those who won the awards in various categories.

Bradley Cooper, Tyler Perry, and Denzel Washington as fellow actors seemed to intervene in the situation by approaching Will Smith who was still consumed in a big wave of anger. This commercial break was taken as an advantage to cool down the tension and these rather-sweet moments immediately caught the attention of the media.

In a statement released by LAPD to Variety, the police didn’t receive any reports from Chris Rock. Even when he was on stage, Chris Rock, who gasped for a moment after getting a slap from Will Smith, only responded to the slap casually and kept trying to throw some jokes.

“LAPD investigative entities are aware of an incident between two individuals during the Academy Awards program. The incident involved one individual slapping another. The individual involved has declined to file a police report. If the involved party desires a police report at a later date, LAPD will be available to complete an investigative report.” ― LAPD to Variety.

Rachel Zegler is Being Invited to Host The Oscars

Is it an Oscars’ apology for not inviting this West Side Story star?

Rachel Zegler seems to be attending the 94th Academy Awards or Oscars 2022. Variety reports that The Academy has invited Zegler as one of the hosts for the award event. Zegler is currently in London, England, to shoot the live action film Snow White. In order to attend the Oscars which is held in California, America, she has to adjust her shooting schedule.

Previously, there was a little “drama” that seemed to be the backstory of why Zegler is now appointed to host the event. Rachel Zegler revealed that she did not get an Oscars 2022 invitation, even though she is the main character in the film West Side Story directed by Steven Spielberg. This hot news was revealed when Zegler answered a comment from one of the fans on her Instagram account.

This unfortunate moment was allegedly related to the reduction in seating capacity by The Academy in February. The Dolby Theater, which as per usual can accommodate around 3,300 people, had to reduce its capacity to only 2,500 participants due to the emerging COVID-19 condition.

Not only the sitting area, the Dolby orchestra floor is also having a significant amount of capacity reduction. The orchestra area, which normally seats about 1,460 people is reduced to 600 seats, with the main floor which will accommodate about 212 participants.

There are about 216 individuals for this year’s Oscars. All seating, including guests, presenters, and performers, will be on the main floor. Meanwhile, other participants will sit on the mezzanine floor.

Zegler made her film debut as Maria in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story. The film is an adaptation of a musical film with the same title, which was first performed in 1957. The 20-year-old actress also won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical, along with West Side Story for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.

The Oscars 2022 or the 94th Academy Awards will be held on the evening of March 27 at the Dolby Theater (US time). This award night will be broadcast live on ABC TV station and hosted by Regina Hall, Amy Schumer, and Wanda Sykes.

Bella Hadid Speaks Up About Being The Second Option and How Society Influences Her in Such a Young Age

We all know that being the second lead feels very uncomfortable. It’s as if you are being reminded that you move along with someone’s shadow and never be in your own spotlight. Not only we, as commoners, feel the awful feeling of being unseen, supermodel Bella Hadid too can relate and opens up about her struggles since she was a little girl.

The burden that she carries may or may not be a little overweight, considering that she comes from a family who always gets the spotlight. The second born of a successful real estate developer, Mohammed Hadid and a famous 80s model, Yolanda Hadid, spills everything in her April 2022 latest cover for Vogue.

Growing up, Bella was constantly feeling the pressure of being “perfect”, which in this case, it means being like Gigi. As a little girl, she felt overlooked by society and being compared to her more charismatic and “prettier” sister, Gigi Hadid. Bella says that Gigi had it all, the blonde hair, the outgoing personality, the confident, and smiley traits, while Bella, is the opposite of Gigi.

People in society were not helping Bella to feel better, in fact, they emphasized the not-so-true truth about Bella being the “uglier” sister.

“And unfortunately when you get told things so many times, you do just believe it. I always ask myself, how did a girl with incredible insecurities, anxiety, depression, body-image issues, eating issues, who hates to be touched, who has intense social anxiety — what was I doing getting into this business?”

She also speaks up about the “damage” that society put her through, to the point that she hated the look of her nose. Getting a nose job at 14 was a big deal for young girls just because people tell that her nose looks ugly. Bella regrets her impulsive decision, as she thinks now she will for sure love it more than when she was 14. Moreover, her regret comes from the fact that she removed her “heritage” (nose) from her ancestors.

And now, even after she worked herself off, some people often make her feel like she didn’t deserve her achievements. She had always been misunderstood in the modeling industry and the people around her. The modeling industry is clearly not for the weak since you are always required to fill in the beauty standard, according to Bella. She recalled a bitter memory of her first year as a model, when a stylist dismissed her because she couldn’t zip up her dress.

“Looking back, I think, yeah, because a Saint Laurent sample size from the runway was just not a real size for anybody. But then you think there’s something wrong with you, and no one around you is saying, no, no, you’re fine, don’t worry, it’s a small size.”

Bella Hadid feels like society blames everything on you when in fact, there’s absolutely nothing wrong about you. Managed to overcome the awful experiences, Bella continues to learn how to love herself more and inspire young people to never give in to what people tell you to be. Such a role model, indeed.
