Drake still Has the Most Billboard Music Awards

The Billboard Music Awards, shortly known as BBMAs, is an event to allow once again artists to secure their achievements. The BBMAs, held on May 15 (local time) at the MGM Grand Arena, Las Vegas, is still on the hot list topics, considering the figures who graced the awards ceremony. From well-known musicians who have made history in BBMAs for a long time, to newcomers whose careers have skyrocketed, this year’s award is certain to be one of the most unique in the history of BBMAs.

Sixteen months have passed since Olivia Rodrigo pushed herself to be among the A-list musicians, by releasing her hit single “driver’s license”, the 19-year-old singer managed to become the most wins for the BBMAs in 2022. Winning seven awards, Rodrigo became one of the greatest figures that surely must be taken into account in the music industry. The seven categories are Top New Artist, Top Female Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Streaming Songs Artist, Top Radio Songs Artist, Top Billboard Global 200 Artist, and Top Billboard 200 Album.

In second place we have Ye (formerly Kanye West) who won six awards. Ye managed to win the categories of Top Christian Artist, Top Gospel Artist, Top Christian Album, Top Gospel Album, Top Christian Song, and Top Gospel Song.

Followed by Drake in third place, the Canadian rapper managed to win five awards at this year’s BBMAs. Drake won the categories for Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Rap Artist, Top Rap Male Artist, and Top Rap Album. However, adding five more trophies this year, Drake is still the musician with the most BBMAs awards in history. The “One Dance” singer even beat Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber by getting a total of 34 BBMAs trophies (with Taylor Swift holding 29 trophies and Justin Bieber holding 26 trophies).

During his 16-year career, Drake has carved out scintillating feats that have made him one of the most popular and most famous rappers. He has won 192 music awards including four Grammys.

These Musicians are Scheduled to Perform at The 2022 Billboard Music Awards

This year Billboard Music Awards’ stage is going to be rocked by many mesmerizing performances!  On Monday, the next lineup which included five stars, was set to perform along with some golden performers. The night of the event will for sure be an eventful one, hosted by Sean “Diddy” Combs. Some of these names are not strange to your knowledge. Becky G, Ed Sheeran, Travis Scott, Miranda Lambert, and Elle King are joined with the previous list. 

Becky G will make her first performance ever at The Billboard Music Awards from the Xfinity stage, while Ed Sheeran, who is a nominee for precisely nine awards will perform from afar in Belfast, North Ireland. Lambert and King will carry the stage and perform their duet, Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home), which is nominated for the Top Rock Song category. Meanwhile, Scott, who is one of the nominees for the Top Dance/Electric Song category for his Goosebumps remix, will bring about a “memorable” performance though no additional details have been disclosed.

More performances include Megan Thee Stallion, Latto, Rauw Alejandro, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Burna Boy, as well as this year’s Icon Award recipient, Mary J. Blige, at the event. After winning the Top Rap Female Artist at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, Megan Thee Stallion will deliver her first performance at the 2022 BBMAs, which also will happen to be her second time being nominated for the Top Rap Female Artist. In the same category as Megan Thee Stallion, the uprising rapper and also first-time performer, Latto, whose song Big Energy recently managed to be included in the top 10 hits of Billboard Hot 100. Not only that, Latto was also granted a special chance to have a remix version of her song with Mariah Carey and DJ Khaled.

Alejandro’s performance will also honor the Puerto Rican-born singer’s BBMA debut, and he’s in the line for winning four categories: Top Latin Artist, Top Latin Male Artist, Top Latin Album for VICE VERSA, and Top Latin Song for “Todo De Ti”. Unfortunately, Burna Boy isn’t a nominee for even one category, but the Nigerian-innate international megastar will perform at this year’s BBMAs for the first time ever, following his current Best World Music Album win at the 2022 Grammys for his fifth studio record, 2020’s Twice as Tall.

Just came out after the release of their 12th studio album Unlimited Love, Red Hot Chili Peppers will be back on the BBMAs stage to perform for the first time since 23 years ago in which the band had performed a remix of “Scar Tissue” from their Californication album with Snoop Dogg. 

The award event will be Scott’s second live performance since the catastrophe that took place at his music concert Astroworld last November, which for the most part kept him out of the spotlight. The concert caused indescribable damage that left ten people dead and hundreds injured.

Over the weekend, the rapper who has been in a long-term relationship with Kylie Jenner performed alongside Migos’ Quavo during the Miami Grand Prix weekend at E11Even Miami.

On January 26, the Texas Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation granted a motion to combine nearly 400 lawsuits — filed by organizers and victims — into one for a single judge, according to Billboard. Nearly 2,800 victims will be represented under the suit, which seeks billions of dollars in damages and alleges negligence in the planning and managing of the music festival.

Scott requested the dismissal of multiple lawsuits against him in December 2021. In the filings, the rapper and his company “generally” denied the allegations made in the suits.

The Billboard Music Awards will be broadcast live on May 15 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas at 8 p.m. (local time) on NBC and Peacock.

Will Smith Pursues Spiritual Purposes in India

Willing to go extra mile for inner peace, you might want to look up to Will Smith for this matter. Post one month after the Oscars slapping incident, Will Smith has since received a lot of support and hate speech. These overwhelming reactions from various sides and people around the world were alleged to be the main reason why he flew to India. The Oscars winner was spotted for the first time in public after the incident at a private airport in Mumbai, India. Will was encountered by the paparazzi who have been waiting for his arrival and he flashed a smile for photos.

According to a source from PEOPLE, Will Smith traveled to India for binding a spiritual quest that involved meditation and yoga. The root of this traveling could be traced back a day after the Oscars slapping incident blew up. Will then released a statement saying that he deeply apologized for his “shocking, painful, and inexcusable” behavior. He “reacted emotionally” because the joke that Chris Rock threw about Jada’s condition was too much for him to bear.

Not long after that, Will Smith with all due respect decided to resign from the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, as the hostess of the Oscars. The Academy excluded Will Smith from attending its prestigious event for the next 10 years.

“The list of those I have hurt is long and includes Chris, his family, many of my dear friends and loved ones, all those in attendance, and global audiences at home. I betrayed the trust of the Academy.”

Will later finalized his statement by saying that to make a change, time must be sacrificed. He is committed to never again letting his emotions go out of hand and such degrading behavior happen again.

“Generally speaking, green is the second rarest natural color of a diamond with fancy red being the rarest. Only a small handful of green diamonds come to the market every year and almost never are they in the vivid color and size of this diamond.” ― Grant Mobley

“Green diamonds get their unique color from the exposure to natural radiation deep within the Earth after they have formed and this causes them to reflect green light. It is very rare for this to penetrate through the entire rough diamond and therefore is usually just a thin layer on the surface of the rough diamond. This fact makes green diamonds among the most difficult to cut and a diamond like this could have taken a year or more to plan and cut to ensure that it reflects the best cut and color possible.”

But as soon as destiny stepped in, she was told to try memorizing Cinderella’s dialogue and ensoul as Cinderella. The rest is history.

The exquisite 2022 Grammy Awards, which was held on April 3rd (U.S. time) may be one of the most memorable moments for Olivia Rodrigo throughout her career in the music industry. Success in making the biggest hits that are loved by many, especially by young girls, Olivia has succeeded in gaining achievements from the popularity of her songs. Songs like drivers license, good 4 u, traitor, and happier, must be familiar just like melodies to your ears. At the age of nearly 20, Olivia has won three Grammys at the 2022 Grammy Awards.

Wrapped in a black dress designed by Vivienne Westwood, with the touch of pink crystals that form the silhouette of her body, Olivia looked stunning in delivering her acceptance speech. The California-born singer thanked the Recording Academy, friends, all her fans for making one of her dreams came true. Giving credit to the most meritorious figures, Olivia Rodrigo dedicated her Grammys to her parents. If not for their support and faith, she said that she would’ve never created such a masterpiece and made her dream come true. 

“I want to thank my mom for being supportive [of] all of my dreams, no matter how crazy. I want to thank my mom and my dad for being as equally as proud of me for winning a Grammy as they were when I learned how to do a back walkover.”

She also briefly talked about the process of making her debut album SOUR. According to Olivia, this album has taught her a lot in challenging her and made her grow into a whole better version of Olivia in the present. The singer called the whole process of making the album SOUR was very nostalgic, it’s like visiting a past era of her life. She thinks that she is “definitely feel like I am a more confident person today because of it.”

As a singer who is arguably just on the rise, Olivia Rodrigo has proven that her footprint will last a long time in the music industry. Talking about recognition, she was included in seven nominations for the 2022 Grammy Awards. Olivia Rodrigo won the prize for Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album for her album SOUR, and Best Pop Solo Performance for drivers license. Defeating several masterpieces by other famous singers such as Doja Cat, Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, and Justin Bieber, Olivia Rodrigo managed to prove her prowess.
