Talking about remembering small details, Ben Affleck seems to be the winner, as green is the singer’s favorite color. On the Jlo newsletter, the singer describes the color as her lucky charm. She recalled many amazing things happened in her life“… when I was wearing green”.

In an exclusive interview between PEOPLE and two diamond experts, the green diamond ring is one of the rarest pieces to ever exist. Grant Mobley, a Diamond Expert in Natural Diamond Council, stated that there are not enough words to describe the rarity of the diamond that sits gracefully on the 52-year-old singer’s ring finger.

“Generally speaking, green is the second rarest natural color of a diamond with fancy red being the rarest. Only a small handful of green diamonds come to the market every year and almost never are they in the vivid color and size of this diamond.” ― Grant Mobley

Talking about the price, it’s for sure that the price of this green diamond will significantly increase in value in many years ahead, moreover, considering that Lopez’s ring is in vivid intense green color. And now, the question pops out in our heads, where does this green color come from? Turns out, the color appears thanks to rare natural radiation below the earth.

“Green diamonds get their unique color from the exposure to natural radiation deep within the Earth after they have formed and this causes them to reflect green light. It is very rare for this to penetrate through the entire rough diamond and therefore is usually just a thin layer on the surface of the rough diamond. This fact makes green diamonds among the most difficult to cut and a diamond like this could have taken a year or more to plan and cut to ensure that it reflects the best cut and color possible.”

The happy news was released after a year of their rekindled romance. As we all probably know, Lopez and Affleck had a history in the past but went their own separate ways. Fate can’t be bothered, as the old saying goes, both of them are reunited under much better circumstances, in experiences and mentality.
