The romance series, which takes place and time during the Regency era will be back to redeem the longing of fans around the world. After successfully reaching the total of 72 million viewers and 625 million hours being watched on Netflix, Bridgerton marked its title as one of the most watched Netflix original series in 2021. The overflowing enthusiasm comes from the settings, storyline, and last but not least the very interesting casts of Bridgerton.
To freshen up your memory a little bit, this series focuses on telling the story of the Bridgertons’ love and social life, as one of the elites in an upper class society. In season 1, Bridgerton focused on the love story of the Bridgertons’ eldest daughter, Daphne Bridgerton. Being a young lady during that time had put Daphne in a lot of pressure from society, especially when it came to finding a future husband and getting married. An unanticipated meeting with Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings, turned out to create an unexpected spark of romance, as well as twists and turns that were not easy to go through for both of them. However, as the old saying goes, “the heart wants what it wants”, the ending of season 1 was wrapped up by Daphne and Simon’s bittersweet but beautiful love story.
Welcoming season 2, the focus of the story will shift to Anthony Bridgerton as the eldest of the Bridgertons. Anthony, who in season 1, experienced a failure in romance due to the differences of social status, now will be ready for a new chapter in finding true love. Siena Rosso, the opera singer who was his forbidden love interest, will be replaced with new fresh challenging figures for Anthony to deal with. Chris Van Dusen, as the creator and Executive Producer, will go all in to make Anthony’s storyline get even more complicated, as he will experience inner conflict within himself, between love and duty as the “head” of the Bridgertons.
